Proud To Give Back To Our Community
If the past year has taught us anything, it’s to be thankful for our health and for the roof over our heads. Unfortunately, many in the Phoenix, AZ area are food insecure and do not have adequate, if any, housing for themselves or their family. As a local business, we are proud to be a part of this community and want to serve each and every member. To help our neighbors most in need, the One Bag At A Time program was founded.
Legacy Of Service
Andy Hobaica, grandson of company founder Paul Hobaica, started One Bag At A Time in 2015. Andy wanted to continue the deep love for the community his grandfather had throughout his life. As the son of immigrants and a WWII veteran, Paul saw firsthand how important community and giving back can be. He always put that message forth through his company and family. Andy heard his grandfather’s message loud and clear.
Andy saw the needs of his community and wanted a way to give back to those less fortunate. He helped start One Bag At A Time as a way to connect a home comfort service company and those without the most basic human needs, like food and housing.
Mission Of One Bag At A Time
There are thousands of men, women and children in the Phoenix area who are homeless. Many have health complications or are disabled and have trouble accessing basic items they need on a regular basis.
One Bag At A Time is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that focuses 100% of its efforts in serving the homeless community in Phoenix, AZ. Once a month our team and community volunteers gather to give essential supplies directly to those that need it most, our homeless community.
We set up tables and tents near 12th Avenue and Jefferson where there is a significant homeless population in need. There we distribute much needed supplies like non-perishable food, water, personal needs, clothing and other seasonally related items.
We are so proud of Andy and his efforts to help make this program grow and thrive. It gives much needed essentials directly to those less fortunate. And who couldn’t use a helping hand now and then, right?
How Can You Help?

- Drop Off Items - We are always collecting items we can redistribute. Feel free to drop off the following items at our Hobaica location:
- Non-Perishable Food Items
- Baby Wipes
- Toilet Paper
- Hand Sanitizer
- Feminine Products
- Dental Products
- Sunscreen
- Shoes & Socks
- Any Other Personal Care Item
- Monetary Donations - Would you rather donate to the cause directly? We are happy to accept monetary donations which we will use to purchase supplies on your behalf. You can donate to One Bag At A Time on our Facebook Page.
- Volunteer In Person - Anyone is welcome to come help volunteer and assist in serving the homeless! Our events are once a month, typically on Sundays. Check out our Facebook Page for more information on dates.
