Why Home Safety Inspections Are Important

You Won’t Believe Some Of The Problems We’ve Uncovered In Phoenix Homes

Our team of experts here at Hobaica Services is proud to have served the Phoenix community since 1952. We sure have seen a few things and collected some stories during that time. But nothing comes close to what we have discovered during routine home safety inspections!

Whether you are in a new home with newer plumbing or an older home with older electrical work, you should always have these crucial systems regularly inspected. As we have seen in our years in the biz, the most unexpected things can pop up that need to be taken care of or your home could be at risk. Luckily, Hobaica Services includes home safety inspections that leave no stone unturned when it comes to the safety of your home and family.

Attic Safety Inspection – Dangerous Problems Waiting To Happen

You know the old saying, “Out of sight, out of mind”? Well, our attics are definitely out of sight, but they should never be out of mind. When we were hired to add attic insulation to a new client’s home, we did our routine inspection of the attic space first. What we found was a little terrifying, to say the least. This client had an electrical fire hazard just waiting to happen – and they had no idea.

We found an electrical nightmare of exposed wires that had scorched the framing around it as well as the wall and insulation. Luckily it had not yet caused a major fire. Our licensed electricians were able to replace the electrical components so that they operated safely to code before our insulation team added proper insulation to the attic.

Plumbing Safety Inspection – A Leaky Water Heater Causing Major Damage

Leaking Water Heater Image 20220920 175800 523

When we went to another home here in Phoenix, AZ, for a routine plumbing safety inspection, we found a water heater that was in terrible shape. Now, it’s not that uncommon to find water heaters in need of replacement as they typically only last about 8-10 years. In this case, however, the water heater was corroded and had been leaking for a while, ending up causing a lot of property damage to the home.

Had we not replaced the water heater when we did, it would have continued to leak and caused damage to the house. Long exposure to water leads to mold and mildew growth which is hazardous to your health and can cost you thousands to fix.

Take advantage of our water heater inspection and flush service. In the month of October, sign up for this essential service for only $19.52.

This is just one example of the substantial property damage a problem with your plumbing system can cause. Our team of plumbers is proficient in finding and fixing leaks as well as pipe replacement, fixture repair and all things plumbing that can go wrong in your house. If there is a problem, we’ll find it and handle it.

Electrical Safety Inspection – An Electrical Panel Gone Bad

We put so much more stress on our electrical systems than we used to. Homes built in the 60s, ’70s and ’80s were not equipped to provide the amount of electricity a modern home uses. In one electrical safety inspection we performed on a house, we found a panel that was way overworked and almost fried to a crisp.

Components of an electrical panel unfortunately do not last forever. Parts of a panel become corroded or damaged over time. When an electrical panel becomes damaged, it can cause a fire. Luckily in this instance, our homeowner did not have a fire. We were able to come in and replace their panel safely before any fire started.
