On May 26th of this year Hobaica employees provided our usual customer service with a smile…and a very unusual red nose! We participated in National Red Nose Day by donning red noses to help raise money for children living in poverty. Red Nose Day is both a fundraiser and a funraiser, as the results are donations, increased awareness, fun and laughter. Hobaica added to the festivities by giving each of our employees a red nose, and encouraging them to wear red accessories as well. All employees who submitted a picture of themselves in their red nose were awarded a free movie coupon.
What is Red Nose Day?
Red Nose Day was founded by the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc. The mission of Comic Relief Inc. is to raise money and awareness to help children living in poverty, and gives to the poorest communities in the United States and throughout the world. This year some of the Comic Relief Inc. partner charities included Boys & Girls Clubs of America, National Urban League, and the Vaccine Alliance to name just a few. Though Red Nose Day began in the UK, this fundraiser caught on in the United States in 2015. To date, Red Nose Day has raised over $1 billion globally, and helped improve and save the lives of children with far reaching results. Last year alone Red Nose Day benefited children in all 50 states and in 15 countries.
What Led Hobaica to Participate in Red Nose Day?
At Hobaica, we meet the heating and cooling needs of the the Phoenix area, but we also strive to be much more than an HVAC and wine cellar company. We believe strongly in giving back to the community. While Hobaica supports many local charities, from Andre House to Saint Mary’s Food Bank to local schools and churches, Red Nose Day gave us an opportunity to reach an even larger community on a national and international level. Red Nose Day was a day that our employees came together to look silly for a cause. It was truly a day that combined great fun and serious fundraising, and helped the Hobaica family realize our role in the local and global community. We look forward to making Red Nose Day an annual fundraising – and funraising – event.
